Sleep Studies Types
Polysomnography Study (PSG)
Diagnostic study will show if there is anything abnormal in your sleep.
Home Polysomnography Study (Home PSG)
This diagnostic study will show if there is anything abnormal in your sleep.
**This option is for patients with no comorbidities and display mild symptoms of Sleep Apnea only.
Positive Airway Pressure Study (PAP)
When a patient is diagnosed with Sleep Apnea, they will be asked to return for a full night of treatment.
This involves fitting the patient for a comfortable mask and finding the correct pressure to treat the patient.
PAP-NAP
When a patient is diagnosed with Sleep Apnea and displays anxiety, skepticism, or claustrophobia they will be asked to return for a daytime nap session. This session will take place before coming in for their PAP study and involves a coaching session to become adapted to PAP Therapy.
Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT)
When a patient shows symptoms of narcolepsy, they will be asked to participate in an overnight PSG following a day study.
The daytime portion consists of five nap sessions.
Maintenance of Wakefulness Test (MWT):
This test shows whether a patient is able to stay awake for a defined period duirng the day.
This may be used to measure treatment for sleep disorders or judge whether a patient is too tired to drive or perform daily tasks.
